Russian Hill

The 2008 vintage of our Gail Ann’s Vineyard Chardonnay has the best of two worlds - rich tropical fruit flavors due to a warmer than usual year that are nicely offset by a bright, racy freshness that is classic Russian River Valley. The nose is extraordinarily complex and pleasing with aromas of lime, loquat, cantaloupe, honey and jasmine. A very rich palate adds flavors of almond and lemon and a beautiful minerality. The flavors are bright, the oak is subtle and the wine is balanced and elegant.

A standout vintage for our Russian River Valley Pinot noir, the 2008 has an enticing nose of orange zest, cinnamon, cloves and plums. On the palate there are additional flavors of black cherry and sassafras. The wine is racy with a nice sense of zip due to its refreshing acidity. Well integrated tannins give the wine a nice structure and balance.

The 2008 vintage of our Estate Vineyards Pinot noir shows a rich mixture of fruit and earth tones, perhaps brought on by the warmer weather, that results in a wine with a wonderful balance of the two. The wine greets you with aromas of ripe plum and follows through on the palate with flavors of sandalwood, toffee, caramel, mushroom and forest floor earth. This wine is rich and opulent and will pair well with roasted chicken and pork dishes.

Our “classic styled” Leras Pinot is true to form in 2008. Whether due to the vineyard’s older, heritage clone or its cooler and lower location, this wine is typically Old World in style. On the nose, there are aromas of mushroom, sassafras and pomegranate. The palate has flavors of raspberry and earth and the wine has a refreshing briskness.
 

The 2008 Tara Pinot has a profusion of black cherry and blueberry aromas that on the palate are complimented by flavors of black raspberry, cocoa, toffee and rich spicy tones of cinnamon, allspice and sandalwood. A beautifully elegant and complex Pinot noir.
 

A wine with a rich milieu of aromas including boysenberry, plum, blueberry, nutmeg, clove and other spices. On the palate, it has a refreshing acidity enhancing the fruit and spice flavors.   A wonderful addition to our "Estate" series.
