Beginning in 2002, we were able to secure fruit from Meredith Vineyard. Located in the Sebastopol Hills region of the Sonoma Coast, this vineyard is owned and farmed by Merry Edwards who ensures that every vine receives the meticulous attention required to produce great wines. The vineyard is cane pruned so each individual vine can be maintained at its optimal production level to ensure the balance in the vineyard that is necessary to produce well balanced wines.
Meredith vineyard is tucked into a small bowl on an eastern facing hillside that provides protection from the winds that precede the coastal fog so common in this area. The vineyard cascades down the slope providing each row of vines with ample sunshine. The soil at Meredith Vineyard is the sandy Goldridge loam that is distinct to the western portion of the Russian River Valley and nearby Sonoma Coast region. Russian Hill’s Meredith Pinot noir is made from a selection of clones including Dijon 667, 777 and the Swan clones.
